PICK YOUR LOCATION
When it comes to magnet fishing, you can cast your magnet and rope safely into most bodies of water. From a pier, bridge, or boat on the open water, drop your magnet into the unknown and see what you discover.

- To find something worthwhile, pick a spot people use.
- Pick a location with a good water depth. Deep waters offer more mystery.

- Locations with bridges create a great, safe cast-off spot.
- Pick a location that is safe and not near fast flowing currents.

- Watch out for local wildlife.
- Always tidy up after yourselves and recycle any materials you don't wish to keep.

SAFETY WARNING
Always ensure that it is safe to fish in your selected location. Consider the water's depth and current be sure of your surroundings. Do not put yourself in danger and always tell someone when you are going to magnet fish. Ensure you have permission in your chosen location. Always ensure that your findings are cleared away from any footpath or walkway, and respect the environment around you. Read the magnet warning sheet before handling.
THINGS TO FIND
Beneath the surface of the water lies the unknown and you could be on the verge of unearthing a hidden treasure. You’re certain to find old scrap metal and fish hooks but people in the past have discovered historic coins, firearms, and WWII artefacts! What will you find? Other people use magnetic fishing to help retrieve tools that have fallen into the water. With a rope length of 10 meters, you stand a strong chance of retrieving your equipment.

BIKE FRAMES
Discover bike frames that have been left in the water. Bring them back to life or trade the material in for cash!

LOST TREASURE
Just like a pirate in search of lost treasure, find a hidden gem and reap the rewards by hitting the jackpot.

LOST FISHING HOOKS
See how many fishing hooks you can discover and tally them up. Spare a thought for the fishermen and women out there.

COINS
Count your findings and make a little profit. Find old or foreign currencies and start a collection.
EQUIPMENT
You will not require a rod, various baits, a line, or nets; magnet fishing only requires 3 simple tools. We do, however, recommend a thick pair of gloves for handling your findings.

Pot Magnet
Pot magnets have a strong clamping force with a thin connection and allow you to attract to and hold large objects with a smaller magnet face.

Eyebolt
Screw your eyebolt into the magnet and thread your rope through the hole and tie sufficiently. See below our knot recommendations.

Rope
Ensure you have a strong rope with great breaking strength. Weaker ropes may snap when you are retracting the rope, magnet, and ferrous material.
FIXINGS
How to tie your rope to the magnet when magnet fishing?
When tying your rope to the magnet, ensure the knot is strong and secure. Your magnet will attract ferrous materials beneath the water and a secure line is pivotal for retrieving the magnet and your find. Here are some knots we recommend:

Double Davy
A secure knot that can be tied quickly and easily. Works great with a thin rope.

Taut-Line Hitch
A strong knot that gets tighter as you retract the rope from the water.

Perfection Knot
Often referred to as the Angler’s Loop, this knot creates a ring for your eyebolt.
